After a 2-year hiatus PE's print magazine returns! We're back to a compact and affordable newsprint format and will resume publishing four times per year.
Issue #59 contains interviews with Dave Dictor of the legendary MILLIONS OF DEAD COPS, Twin Cities hardcore punks IN DEFENCE, artist/illustrator Hush a.k.a. Jeremy Clark—(originally slated as the featured artist in the aborted issue #58). There is also the first of a two part series in memorial of Warren "Spider" Hastings and the legacy of his Punkfests at Spiderland Acres. To round it off, all of our regular columnists are back in full swing, Maygun covers Indian foods in her Vegan Recipe section (also originally slated for #58) and review section that totally raises the bar for the level of thoroughness of each item covered.
If you are just ordering a single zine from the web site, keep in mind that minimum postage is going to be $3 in the USA and more elsewhere. You will be much better off combining your zine purchase with a larger order or purchasing a four-issue subscription ($10 for 4 issues in the USA - postage included). If you previously had an active subscription in the fall of 2008, it will automatically resume with PE #59.

An intense new full length album from this dark crust band hailing from the gloomy crust punk underworld of Gothenburg, Sweden. Eight songs in just over 72 minutes(!) of death and blackmetal gloom with a healthy dose of crust punk influences. This is one of the most epic and most expressive releases to date: crushed souls, despair, and everything you'd expect from a Profane Existence title. Agrimonia previously self-released a crushing hour-long demo in 2007, which was later repressed on vinyl by Skuld Releases and on CD by Detesta Records. Vinyl version of Host of the Winged will also be released in Europe by Skuld and should be available for their West Coast tour of the US in August. Check out their page on MySpace for the latest info. Also read their interview in Profane Existence.
Digital versions of Host of the Winged is also available for purchase from iTunes, Amazon, MP3, Napster, Spotify, eMusic, Zune, Nokia, Shockhound, Thumbplay, IMVU, eMusic and more. Vinyl versions from Skuld releases will soon be available through Profane Existence Distro.
