A random encounter from THE BLOODCLOTS.
From time to time sleep fails me. “Sleep when your dead!!!”
After a long week of work, partying, and general punk rock madness , waking up on Monday after a solid night of sleep left me feeling rather refreshed.
Before my shift at Extreme Noise whilst eating a falafel sandwich I agreed to myself I’ll ‘take it easy’ tonight!
After about an hour of being at Extreme Noise in walks some decked out spikey punx that clearly are not from these parts. Racking my brain for a split second and remembering meeting Terry on a drunken bus ride last summer and seeing The Bloodclots play at his bar… I make my move. “HEY! YOU GUYS ARE FROM SEATTLE! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN TOWN!?”
Well, The Bloodclots are apparently on tour.
Having NO idea about them being in town OR the show they played the night before to 5 people and wanting to play again, a phone call is made. Easy, Monday night, punk rock bowling at Memory Lanes, The Bloodclots are jumping on the bill. Done deal.
...A few punks showed up to watch them, last minute style!

THE BLOODCLOTS.

Afterwards we enhanced our drunken mayhem by drinking more and partying til’ sunrise at some friends’ house down the street.

When we stumbled back to my place, we had a battle of drinking. Seattle vs. MPLS. Up til 9 in the morning, listening and dancing along to classic punk albums including some G.B.H., Buzzcocks, One Way System, Cock Sparrer, Pogues, Filth, Flux of Pink Indians, and more.

I woke up at 4 in the afternoon. Beer, cider, and vodka spilled all over my room, and records scattered everywhere.
Black out?
Squints was the only one who had been to the Mall of America before, so clearly we took advantage of the free movie passes the Triple Rock gave them the night before and went to the fucking mall!
We killed some time before the movie started and wandered through the indoor amusement park.
What a strange place. Not my reality, or anything close to it. At all.
People were starring and laughing, pointing and scoffing, shocked and freaked out by our appearance. It made me feel like it was 1984 again! (…Not that I ever even existed in that year, or anything.)
As we passed the cage where you pay to get your picture taken with Sponge Bob, we see this 6 foot, foam, vibrant thing come at us. SPONGE BOB. This child toucher notices US and directs us inside it’s cage. And pictures were taken. From the 15-dollar-a-picture booth, by-passers, and probably security cameras. Pictures were fucking taken. We were laughing and being completely ridiculous the entire time. The people working at that Sponge Bob booth found us after awhile with printed copies of the picture that was just taken and had us autograph them.
A very minimal English speaking couple asked all us to be in a picture with their daughter who was in a wheelchair. That’s the picture I really want to see! Aw!

Tuesday night we went to The Hexagon for Punk DJ night and played darts, pool, and drank a mass amount of Jagermeister. Went home and hung out with roommates, Chelsea got us all pizza from Luce. Fucking awesome. Life rules. Goodnight.
Sent them off today, and are currently playing in MADISON and being taken care of by Brandon who does shows at his house! Veggie burgers and a keg. OOH, and PREYING HANDS are playing with them as well!
Check out the Bloodclots on the rest of their tour!
