At first glance, I thought this was going to be dumb street punk, the cover art, band name, and album title might full you, but it’s actually pretty damn good. The music is hardcore, fast paced, catchy, and a lot heavier then I thought it would be. There is defiantly some street punk influence in there, but more hardcore punk, with even a bit of crust mixed in. The drums really stand out, they are pummeling and gallop along, really adding an extra element to the music, there is even some double bass action thrown in some places! The vocals are throaty and harshly shouted thru a thick layer of phlegm, for an awesome pissed off sound. Musically I don’t know exactly who to compare it to, it reminds me of something, but I just can’t put my finger on it. To put it simply, this is fast, hardcore punk, but I think this is a lot better then that simplistic description implies. My only real complaint is that I wish they would’ve sent in an actual copy of their LP for review, instead of this little 3 song promo CD, so that I could hear the rest of the album, and check out the lyrics, art work, and get a feel for the total package. So far, I like what I hear. (righteous)
